What is the FNT Visitor Pass?

The FNT Visitor Pass allows members of the public who are not flying to visit Bishop Airport and enjoy the amenities on the secure side of the airport. For example, you could:

  • Spend time at a gate or a restaurant with family and friends
  • Surprise your arriving service member at his/her gate (for domestic arrivals)
  • Bring your family to watch the arrivals and departures of different types of planes
  • Pick up a gift for your arriving passenger or dine at one of the many restaurants at FNT.

How does the FNT Visitor Pass program work?

The FNT Visitor Pass Program is available on airside, beyond security during flights times. 

1. Apply for the pass

  • The day before you want to visit, complete the registration form. 
  • Type in your full legal name (exactly as it appears on your passport or U.S. driver’s license), your date of birth, and complete any other required fields.

2. Check your email

  • You will receive an email confirmation once you have registered (online). The morning of your planned visit, you will receive an email notifying you of your application status and providing detailed instructions. Please make sure you check your junk email.

3. Come to the airport

  • Once approved, arrive at Flint Bishop Airport and give yourself enough time to park, pick up your FNT Visitor Pass, and submit to passenger screening.
  • Bring the same photo ID (Passport or Driver’s License) that you used to register. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by the sponsoring adult.

4. Pick up your FNT Visitor Pass

  • Follow the instructions on your approval email to pick up your FNT Visitor Pass at the Airport Police Office.
  • Report to the TSA passenger screening checkpoint with your approved FNT Visitor Pass and identification.

Other Important Details:

  • You will be subject to the same security regulations as passengers boarding an aircraft. Please review the list of TSAs prohibited items.
  • This program allows entrance to the secure side of the airport between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. 
  • FNT Visitor Pass access is approved for personal use only; commercial or professional use is expressly forbidden and will result in revocation of your program access.
  • Individuals needing a Pass to access the secure side with traveling children, elderly or any individual needing wheelchair assistance, active military leaving for or arriving from deployment, must obtain a pass from the airline.

Which hours can I use the FNT Visitor Pass?

The FNT Visitor Pass allows access to the secure side of the airport between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Eastern Time Zone). The last FNT Visitor Pass will be issued at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to allow enough time to get your FNT Visitor Pass and get through the security lines. At peak travel times, we recommend you follow the same guidelines as ticketed passengers, arrive early to allow enough time for parking and longer screening lines. Many of the airport services and restaurants close at 7 p.m.

What items can I bring with me?

FNT Visitor Pass users are subject to the same security regulations as ticketed passengers. Access to the secure area is granted by the TSA.

  • All regulations regarding prohibited items, including liquids and aerosol cans, apply to FNT Visitor Pass holders.
  • Please bring only one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or small bag through the security checkpoint.

I want to visit the airport later in the week. Why can’t I apply several days in advance?

To maintain airport security, TSA regulations prohibit airport personnel from verifying visitor entrance more than 24 hours in advance. You will have to complete a new request for every visit on a different date.

Can minors use the FNT Visitor Pass?

Yes, minors are eligible to participate but must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitors under the age of 18 must be registered, but are not required to show ID.

How long will the FNT Visitor Pass be available?

The FNT Visitor Pass has no expected end date. However, FNT has the right to cancel, suspend or modify the program at any time without prior notice.

Can I use the FNT Visitor Pass with TSA PreCheck?

No, FNT Visitor Pass cannot be used with this special access programs.

What kind of identification is accepted?

Any valid form of identification accepted by TSA can be used for the FNT Visitor Pass, including licenses from other states and U.S. and international passports. Starting October 1, 2020, all travelers and FNT Visitor Pass guests will need REAL ID compliant identification.

I am not a U.S. citizen. Can I obtain an FNT Visitor Pass?

Yes, if you submit your registration, are approved for entry, and provide your TSA-approved ID.

I am a badged airport employee. Can I use FNT Visitor Pass?

If you are not entering the airport in a professional capacity, you may use the FNT Visitor Pass. You may not utilize your airport issued identification for access or identification purposes.

How will you use my personal information?

All individuals should carefully read the Privacy Act Statement below and consider the implications of providing their personal information.


The Transportation Security Administration of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires Bishop International Airport to collect information from you for purposes of watch list screening, under the authority of 49 U.S.C. section 114, and the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. Providing this information is voluntary; however, if it is not provided, you may be subject to additional screening or denied transport or authorization to enter a sterile area. TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies or others under its published system of records notice. TSA may share this information with aircraft and airport operators, foreign air carriers, or appropriate Federal, State, or other agency regarding individuals who pose or are suspected of posing a risk to transportation or national security, or for other routine uses identified in TSA systems of records, DHS/TSA 019 Secure Flight Records. DISCLOSURE: Voluntary; failure to furnish the requested information will result in your inability to access facilities located in the airport beyond the screening checkpoint. What if I do not receive email confirmation about my FNT Visitor Pass application?

If you have requested FNT Visitor Pass access, you should receive email confirmation that your registration is being processed. This will be followed by an additional email the morning of your visit. The email will state your status and directions for pick up and use. If you have not received an email, please check your spam folder to see if your Internet Service Provider does not recognize the email address.
