REAL ID

REAL ID Information

There is a new form of identification you will need to present when traveling domestically. The new identification will require residents to present a REAL ID-compliant document to fly in the U.S. and enter certain federal facilities under federal law. You can get a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or state ID from the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office. Starting Febuary 1st, 2026, if you do not have a REAL ID-compliant ID then you will be charged $45 to verify your ID through the TSA ConfirmID.

What Travelers are Saying!

I love flying out of the smaller airports for a lot of reasons, but mainly because of how easy they are to get in and out of. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to get through security. It's definitely worth a few extra dollars for your ticket to fly out of Flint vs DTW.
